Client: Chatham Street Cafe
Location: Bentleigh, VIC
The idea behind the Catham Street Cafe mural was to replicate the feel of Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. We particularly aimed to bring to life the feel of Chatham St.
The most noteworthy icons within the mural include the Clock Tower, Rest House at Negombo, the Museum and the Chapel. The other imagery throughout the mural is representative of the Cafe’s owners, and family history.
While creating the design for this mural, we opted to have a grayscale theme to represent the heritage of the area, and the history of the monuments. The orange backdrop maintains brightness in the mural, keeping the Cafe light and warm, while working as a great contrast to the icons.
